WarmAroundYou Cowl

Here is my WarmAroundYou Cowl by Barbara. This pattern was for a very important cause. I got the yarn from Donna (see Swap for Christmas #1) and it's a wonderful, warm gift for myself! I've also knitted a pair of fingerless gloves and I saved some yarn for a beret. As soon as I learn to knit one...

Merry Christmas!

... I'm not so original, but I want to wish a wonderful Christmas to everyone. Hopefully, it will be a warm and cosy moment to share with those we love.
And I'll be back soon with some news about my knitting projects!

Swap for Xmas #2!

Here it's my second swap since ever. This time I took part to an international swap and I recieved a wonderful gift-box from Harma from The Netherlands. She choose for me a skein of Regia and a skein of Evilla, both in autumn colours. I love them! And there's enough yarn to knit two shawls... Now I don't have any excuse left. I should start the Akimbo shawl!
Then, I received Some traditional Dutch chocolate cakes&biscuits and a box of falvoured tea-bags: cinnamon, my lovest! Thank you Harma!!!

Swap for Xmas #1

Here is my Christmas swap with Ravelry's Swap Italia group. My elf was Donna, who is also organizing the swap, and she sent me a lot of nice things! As first, yarn: a wonderful woll/alpaca tweed yarn in a lovely frosty green. This is perfect for my next KAL, the WarmAroundYou cowl. Then, I had a Panforte from Siena to eat with a cup of  cappuccino. There were also some buttons, very very nice!, a leather keychain in red and a sooo nice Pinocchio which is already among my baby's toys. Finally, two wonderful mice-in-a-nut for my Xmas Tree: they were made directly by Donna and are really amazing!!!
THANK YOU!!!!

Shalom! Finally...

Here is my Shalom cardigan! I realized it was a bit large, so I knitted it in a longer version with only one wood-button. It's very nice with jeans and shirts or with little A-dresses as I usually wear. The colour is shaded in purple/brown/violet, I love it!
Honestly, I'm happy about the result! And it was so nice working with the KAL-girls... Hope to do it again very soon!!!

Happy Hallowe'en!!!

What about my pumpkin, girls?
Today is a foggy rainy day, just th right atmosphere for Hallowe'en... I'm going to cook a traditional risotto with pumpkin and sausage and maybe, if I'm not too late, I'll cook also a pumpkin&choko cake!

A new Hoodie for Pi

Hoodies are my passion, definitely. I can't stop knitting a new one for my baby. This time I've just finished a grey warm hoodie that is perfect for the season. I've used the Bunny by Sesia (25% Alpaca, 25% Acrylic, 50% Merino), 2 skeins in iron grey and one in light grey. The yarn is nice, you can knit it easily and quickly. Pi will love it!
The pattern is very easy and you can knit it in one piece. I will try to upload the pattern, hope to be able to translate it ;-)

While I was waiting for Pietro...

Here I just want to show some of my works, I've made last winter while I was waiting for Pietro's born. My baby is born on December, 22. It was a wonderful, sooo coold, snowing night. All my time in the weeks before was dedicated to prepare his nest.
Here is a special blanket: I was knitting it for a friend of mine who was expecting a baby, when I discovered that I was expecting a baby too!!! I couldn't give it away. It's a kind of good-luck charm for me...
Then, here there is the very first Pietro's hoodie.
I put it on my baby when we firstly went home from the nursery. He was so little ans sweet and the hoodie was so warm and soft, like a kind of teddy bear. It's a piece of my heart.

The cowl is ready!

Yesterday night I finally finished my first cowl! I used the New Jersey yarn by Sesia, less then 2 skeins, knitted with 5mm circular needles. The cowl is a bit thick: my husband's going to wear it for bike riding. He's definitely not a man for frills or soft&smooth yarns...
The pattern is very easy, just the best for beginners. I'm very enthusiastic: that's my first time with circular needles and my first english pattern. Now I'm ready for something more picant...
I've rather started a hoodie for my baby with some skeins of Bunny by Sesia which I found in my chest. I'm a bit obsessed by yarns, when I find something nice I just can't stop buying.
Meanswhile, I should plan what to do with two faboulos skeins of  Malabrigo Silky Merino in Velvet Grapes...

Something about me

What could I say about me? I'm knitting since I was six and this was my first and beloved passion, but I love all those creative stuffs such as decoupage, beading, stencil, felting... And, above all, I adore stitching! Unfortunately, I'm not so skilled in crochet but I'll do my best, I promise!
...and, last but not least, I'm getting crazy for cooking: my risotto, a unique temptation! Let's try, if you want! I'll post my recipe asap, I promise.
Meanswhile... this is me! I was in South England, two years ago. Wonderful place. Hope to go back, somewhen...
Ero in South England, 2 anni fa. Posto incredibile. Spero di tornare, prima o poi...

Here I am!

Hi guys! I really don't know why, but I'm here to start writing my knitting blog. Am I a knitter? Not at all, honestly. I just LOVE knitting: all those yarns and needles, my God! I'm fully addicted. Honestly, I'm still nothing more than a beginner. I'm here to learn and to share: ideas, projects, mistakes...
What about me? I'm female, I'm from Italy and during my regular life I'm an academic scientist. Then, when I'm back home and my son finally is fallen asleep, I sit down on my favourite chair, I catch my needles and I start knitting. Then my husband says "what are you building up this time???" and starts laughing. No problem. It's my chill out time, nothing can disturb me... Let's go!

Ciao a tutti! Andiamo!
