A gift for me - un regalo per me

 This is what I bought for myself last week and finally today everything is arrived! Wonderful! I'm very happy about these books and I've tons of new ideas... The "Stitchionary 5 - Lace" is a treasure of inspiration!
I definitely want to seriously try lace knitting.
My birthday is in April and now I know what to ask for... There are still 4 volumes lacking in my shelf ;-)))

Ecco cosa mi sono comprata la scorsa settimana. oggi finalmente è arrivato il pacco. Una meraviglia! Sono davvero contenta dei libri è ho già avuto un sacco di idee... "Stitchionary 5 - Lace" è incredibile. Conoscevo poco la tecnica e un po' mi spaventava, ma adesso ho tra le mani una vera e propria fonte di ispirazione. Voglio davvero provare ad applicarmi seriamente al lace. E poi il mio compleanno è in aprile e adesso so cosa chiedere... ci sono altri 4 volumi da infilare nel mio scaffale ;-)))

Shalom Cardigan #2

Here is my new Shalom Cardigan! I've knitted the sweater following the Shalom pattern, but changing the stitches. I've used the seed stitch for both the yoke and the border, then the body is in stockinette stitch. The yarn is a Rowan Wool Cotton in two different tones. I've loved the colour, but I don't like so much the final touch. It's too cotton-like for me! I should also learn how to get the best fit for a sweater!!! I'm a XS and I still have problem in the resizing of the pattern. I should study and study ;-))

Ecco qui il mio nuovo Shalom Cardigan! Ho lavorato il maglioncino seguendo lo schema originale per quanto riguarda aumenti etc., ma ho cambiato i punti. Ho usato il punto riso, che amo, per definire lo scollo e per tutti i bordi, mentre ho mantenuto il corpo in maglia rasata. Il filato è la Rowan Wool Cotton in due tonalità diverse. Ho amato subito i colori, ma non mi convince il tocco finale. E' troppo "cotone" per me! Dovrei anche imparare meglio come ottenere un buo fitting!!! Sono una XS e continuo ad avere problemi nel ridisegnare le misure negli schemi. Devo ancora studiare tanto, mi sa...

A very late Happy New Year!!!

I'm so sorry for the extreme delay in wishing all of you a wonderful 2011... What was I doing??? Nothing special, actually. I was just taking care of my baby during the kindergarten closure period. And then housekeeping, ironing, cooking, meeting old relatives I've almost forgotten to know... and all those stuffs I couldn't get a good excuse to delay during the Xmas break!!! But finally we are all back to our jobs and the life is running as usual again... Don't say holidays are relaxing, please!!!
I've knitted a lot in the last two weeks, especially at night. Yesterday I've finally finished my Shalom Revisited Bolero made with Rowan Wool Cotton yarn and now it's at the blocking step. Hope to post the picture tomorrow!

Mi dispiace così tanto di non essermi più fatta viva per augurare a tutte un meraviglio so 2011... Cosa stavo facendo??? Niente di speciale, davvero. Stavo solo badando al mio piccolo durante il periodo di chiusura del nido. E poi stavo tenendo a bada la casa, stirando, cucinando, incontrando parenti che nemmeno ricordavo di avere... e tutte quelle altre cosa che durante le vacanze di Natale non si possono rimandare con le solite ottime scuse!!! Ma finalmente rieccoci tutti alle nostre normali occupazioni e la vita è tornata a correre come al solito... Non dite che le vacanze servono a rilassarci, per favore!!!!
Ieri ho finito una versione tutta mia dello Shalom con la  Rowan Wool Cotton yarn ed ora siamo al bloccaccio. Spero di postare le immagini al più presto!

WarmAroundYou Cowl

Here is my WarmAroundYou Cowl by Barbara. This pattern was for a very important cause. I got the yarn from Donna (see Swap for Christmas #1) and it's a wonderful, warm gift for myself! I've also knitted a pair of fingerless gloves and I saved some yarn for a beret. As soon as I learn to knit one...


Ecco la mia versione del CaldoCollo di Barbara. Questo schema è stato ideato per una causa davvero importante. Ho usato un filato avuto da Donna (vedi Swap for Christmas #1) ed è un magnifico e caldo regalo natalizio per me stessa. Mi sono anche fatta un paio di guanti senza dita e ho ancora un po' di filato per un berretto, non appena imparerò ad usare i DPN...

... I'm not so original, but I want to wish a wonderful Christmas to everyone. Hopefully, it will be a warm and cosy moment to share with those we love.

Swap for Xmas #2!

Here it's my second swap since ever. This time I took part to an international swap and I recieved a wonderful gift-box from Harma from The Netherlands. She choose for me a skein of Regia and a skein of Evilla, both in autumn colours. I love them! And there's enough yarn to knit two shawls... Now I don't have any excuse left. I should start the Akimbo shawl!

Then, I received Some traditional Dutch chocolate cakes&biscuits and a box of falvoured tea-bags: cinnamon, my lovest! Thank you Harma!!!
